ALITA is a regional network which connects communities physically and virtually to facilitate cross-border collaboration in the space of legal innovation and technology, and promote the sharing of knowledge. Our mission is three-fold:

  1. Promote the development and use of legal technology, as well as to advance thought leadership and education in the fields of legal innovation and technology;
  2. Aid the efforts of national legal technology associations and provide guidance and expertise in the creation and operation of local legal technology associations; and
  3. Enhance connections, collaboration and coordination between legal technology associations, regulators, law firms, technology companies and legal technology interest groups across the Asia-Pacific to generate opportunities for our stakeholders.

The Future of Privacy Forum (FPF) is a non-profit organization that serves as a catalyst for data protection and privacy leadership and scholarship, advancing principled data practices in support of emerging technologies.

FPF brings together industry, academics, consumer advocates, and other thought leaders to explore the challenges posed by technological innovation and develop privacy protections, ethical norms, and workable business practices. Through research, publications, and other related activities, FPF works with organizations and governments to shape best practices and policies.

In August 2021, FPF opened its Asia Pacific (APAC) office in Singapore to serve as a trusted platform for sharing ideas and best practices between APAC and other regions of the globe. FPF APAC works with outstanding partners from around the region to develop outreach programs, organize in-country events, and promote thought leadership and relevant expertise for the specific needs of this dynamic and diverse region.

The Institute is managed by a Board of Directors comprising representatives from various stakeholders in the legal community. The Honourable Attorney-General, the President of the Law Society of Singapore, and the Deans of the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, the Singapore Management University School of Law and the Singapore University of Social Sciences School of Law are ex officio members of the Board of Directors. The remaining members of the Board of Directors are appointed by the President of the Singapore Academy of Law.

The Chairman of the Institute is the Honourable Attorney-General Mr Lucien Wong, SC.

The Dean of the Institute is Associate Professor Eleanor Wong Siew Yin.

Every Singapore lawyer who has in force a practising certificate is automatically a member of the Law Society. Certain categories of foreign lawyers registered with the Legal Services Regulatory Authority are also automatically members of the Law Society.

The mission of the Law Society is to serve its members and the public by sustaining an independent bar which upholds the rule of law and ensures access to justice. As part of its mission in ensuring access to justice for the needy, the Law Society has established a Pro Bono Services Office.

The Council of the Law Society, which consists of 5 statutory members and elected members, manages the affairs of the Law Society and ensures the proper performance of its functions under the Legal Profession Act.

UKSLSS is the umbrella organisation for all Singaporeans studying law in the UK. We hold a calendar of social and career-related events (in the UK and Singapore) that culminates each year in the Singapore Legal Forum (SLF). The society also publishes a student-run journal, the Singapore Comparative Law Review, under the patronage of former Chief Justice Chan Sek Keong. It allows members to critically engage and compare the legal developments of Singapore and the UK.


The SLF is the society’s annual flagship event. It provides a platform for the movers and shakers of the legal industry to discuss pertinent issues of the day and allows for our members to delve deeper into their interest.
