Billions of hours – and pounds – are wasted on contract drafting each year. The result is lower margins for law firms, and poor contracting speed for businesses. Clarilis gives the greatest return on your lawyers by enabling faster, more accurate drafting than manual methods and existing document automation platforms – particularly when it comes to complex documents. Time to a first draft on any legal document is typically reduced by 90%. Clarilis also de-risks the drafting process and enables drafting to be delegated to more junior members of your team. Our intelligent drafting platform is different and excels at complex automation. It understands legal documents, with a rules-based approach to drafting, layout conventions, and many other rules of construction. This makes drafting automation using Clarilis far more straightforward and structured than with other document automation platforms, which are general purpose in their approach. We also recognise that transactions and other legal matters often involve multiple documents. Clarilis focuses on modelling an entire matter, rather than automating one document at a time. This highly structured approach can be used to draft entire suites of complex documents with ease, and has the flexibility to evolve with automation projects over time. Time to real value is accelerated by our results-focussed methodology, through the combination of our intelligent drafting platform and lawyer-led customer team. Your drafting automation projects are delivered on time, for a fixed fee, with a solid ROI for both law firms and in-house legal. Clarilis. The intelligent drafting platform.

Dazychain was founded by Yarris to solve a problem – how to organise in-house legal services so that lawyers can be more fulfilled in their professional lives. In-house lawyers have to do more with less, and generally without the technology that the private firms enjoy. Our ambition was to build a platform to streamline legal operations, just for in-house, not for firms. We want to give in-house lawyers their own platform which they can conform to their own way of working. We want Dazychain to free lawyers to be their best, to reduce the mundane work and to put their efforts where they can make most impact for their organisations. Dazychain is transforming life for in-house counsel, bringing all the main legal ops tools onto the one platform, enabling the in-house to show the strategic importance of what they do, and streamlining the way they practice law. Dazychain organises legal operations so that in-house lawyers are free to be their best.

Halialabs is a Singapore-based blockchain startup. We use decentralized IT to enable decentralized value-chains to digitalize in a decentralized manner, i.e. without central coordination. Some of the major business ecosystems of the world like cross-border trade, property transactions, are decentralized; and they have resisted traditional digitalization solutions like portals and databases for most of the last fifty years of the Computer Revolution. Our products and technology empower individuals to create digital “true copies” out of any softcopy file so that their correspondents can trust what is sent to them, that they are authentic and have come from the correct party. Such verifiable authenticity is a property of the true copy files themselves and not a platform that stores them; all copies of true copy files are also true copies! The actions of individual value-chain actors can raise the integrity entire value-chains without waiting for every actor to be simultaneously equipped with the same technology as well. We also provide a system of privacy-protecting decentralized identifiers enforces accountability for users that create true copies. They also enable users to authenticate themselves to service-providers without exchanging personal information (e.g. an email address). These identifiers are protected within convenient biometrically protected mobile wallets. This id-scheme is lightweight, secure and open-ended scheme and it functions without central id-administrators and central id-databases.

The Singapore Management Univerqsity (SMU) Centre for Computational Law (CCLAW) conducts applied research in the intersection between technology and law with the goal of improving legal and regulatory services and increasing access to justice. Its flagship Research Programme in Computational Law is supported by a S$15M grant awarded by the National Research Foundation Singapore (NRF). The Programme will research and develop open source technologies for ‘smart’ contracts and ‘smart’ statutes, starting with the design and implementation of a domain-specific programming language (DSL) that allows for contracts, laws, rules, and business process logic – basically, everything that makes up “law” – to be expressed in code. This paves the way for ‘smart’ contracts and statutes that can be reliably executed by computers to enable precise and accurate performance and compliance. The eventual industry-adoption of the DSL will facilitate the delivery of more efficient legal and regulatory services through digital systems, and will broaden access to justice. For more information, please visit https://cclaw.smu.edu.sg
